"I am a fourth-generation Santa Cruz resident and a fourth-generation knight. The sword I have carried in the Color Corps belonged to my father's father. I joined the Knights of Columbus at 25-years-old and was Grand Knight of Santa Cruz Council 971 by the age of 30 and have held an officer's chair ever since; additionally I have been the council bulletin editor and webmaster continuously since my time as Grand Knight.
The Knights provide a great way for me to give back to my community; where my family has lived for five generations now if you count my kids and my siblings' children. It provides opportunites to volunteer for a wide variety of local charity projects and help other people.
I've been married to my wife Kristen nearly as long as I've been in the Knights.
I've attended the KofC State Convention as the official Council 971 delegate on more than a few occasions.
After years of being active in the 4th Degree Color Corps, I became Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree Assembly, Cristeros de Santa Cruz, in 2014."
