Frances "Mike" Devitt

Mike passed away April 16th, on his beloved wife's birthday, at his home in Capitola. Born in Brooklyn, NY in 1922, he was a WWII veteran. He married Betty Harrison in 1945 and moved to San Jose, CA. Mike joined the San Jose Fire Department and after 27 years retired as Chief Arson Investigator.

In 1973 they settled in Capitola, CA. Mike was an active member of the SIRS and Knights of Columbus and enjoyed golfing and bowling weekly.

Mike was proceeded in death by wife Betty, brothers Dan and Joe and sister Ruth. Mike is survived by his sisters Muriel, Agnes and Sister Ruth Francis, daughter Ann Stow and her husband Dave, son John Devitt and his wife Joy, grandkids Bryan, Erin and Bonnie Stow, great grandkids Mikayla, Tyler and Tabitha Stow, brothers and sisters in law Darrell and Mary Harrison and Bill and Donnesse Osmond and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph's Church in Capitola May 11th at 11am. In lieu of flowers, contributions to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital are preferred.
